About Raj
Product Design Leader & AI/Platform Specialist with 8+ Years of Experience
I design for complexity: AI, developer platforms, and cloud infrastructure, helping technical teams navigate systems that are often invisible, intricate, and mission-critical. My work turns these into experiences that feel clear, trustworthy, and empowering.

Philosophy
I believe design in technical domains is about clarity and trust. Engineers and operators make high-stakes decisions every day, so my role is to remove friction, surface the right signals at the right time, and make complexity feel manageable.
Core Belief
A good designer doesn’t just create interfaces, they define the problem, make trade-offs transparent, and bring the team into alignment. My best work has come from creating a shared language between design, product, and engineering.
What Drives Me
I’m motivated by two things:
Expertise Includes
Enterprise, AI/ML & Platform Design: Shaping developer experiences in domains like CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and AI workflows, where reliability and speed matter.
Business Impact: Designing with metrics in mind. Whether it’s reducing support tickets, increasing adoption, or improving deployment frequency.
Strategic Leadership: Applying systems thinking to guide cross-functional teams through ambiguity and set a long-term vision while delivering value in the near term.
Experience
Sr. Staff Product Designer – Moderne.ai
2025
Staff Product Designer – VMware/Broadcom
2020 - 2024
Tanzu Application Platform (TAP)
Tanzu Application Platform (TAP)
Sr. Product Designer – Mode Analytics
2019 - 2020
At Mode, I designed workflows for data analysts to create SQL queries and visual reports for executives. I introduced a visual reporting layer after user testing revealed unmet needs, balancing scope and timelines with product and engineering. The result was a feature that strengthened Mode’s value for analysts while earning trust from leadership through transparent communication.
Principal Product Designer – Panasonic
2018 - 2019
At Panasonic, I defined the MVP for a predictive maintenance platform aimed at anomaly detection in refrigeration units. With limited user access, I framed the MVP as a testable hypothesis, designing modular analysis views that enabled engineers to tag anomalies and train AI models. This approach accelerated learning cycles and de-risked the product vision.
Principal UX Designer – Calix Systems
2017 - 2018
At Calix, I redesigned the marketing cloud dashboard to address declining engagement. By differentiating experiences for managers and executives, I created a clearer, role-based design vision that boosted engagement from 38% to 65% within six months.
Lead UX Designer – Cisco
2013 - 2016
At Cisco, I designed troubleshooting dashboards for the global security suite, focusing on surfacing the right signals for engineers. I also created a service delivery blueprint that streamlined customer onboarding, cutting the process from two months to three weeks. Alongside product work, I mentored junior designers and helped establish consistent design practices across teams.
